Terms of Service — Preflight

    Short version: Preflight tools are MIT-licensed open source software. Use them freely. We provide no warranties. You agree not to use them for malicious AI agent deployment.
  

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using any Preflight tool — including stepproof, agent-comply, agent-gate, agent-shift, or agent-trace (collectively "the Software") — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License

All Preflight tools are released under the MIT License. You are free to:

Use the Software for any purpose, commercial or personal
Modify, copy, and distribute the Software
Include the Software in your own CI/CD pipelines, products, and projects

License texts are included in each tool's GitHub repository.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Preflight tools to:

Validate AI agents intended for illegal activity, fraud, or harm
Circumvent safety measures in AI systems
Falsify compliance artifacts or misrepresent EU AI Act compliance status
Violate any applicable law or regulation, including the EU AI Act

Preflight tools are designed to improve AI agent safety. Using them to create a false appearance of safety is a violation of these terms.

4. No Legal Advice

agent-comply generates compliance analysis reports. These reports are not legal advice. They are automated analysis tools to assist your compliance review — not a substitute for qualified legal counsel. Do not rely on Preflight output as the sole basis for EU AI Act compliance certification or legal decisions.

5. Third-Party Services

Preflight tools use Anthropic Claude CLI for analysis. Your use of Claude CLI is subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service. Preflight is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.

6. No Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PREFLIGHT MAKES NO REPRESENTATION THAT ANY COMPLIANCE ANALYSIS IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR LEGALLY SUFFICIENT.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY — WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE — ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO REGULATORY PENALTIES RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON PREFLIGHT'S COMPLIANCE ANALYSIS.

8. Team Tier

Preflight Team is a paid tier providing additional features including SARIF output, JUnit reports, and shared audit trails. Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact bilko@bglabs.app within 14 days of purchase if the Software does not function as described.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. Contact us first at bilko@bglabs.app.
